Danese is pleased to announce the publication of a deluxe edition of the
monograph
April Gornik: Paintings and Drawings.
Each numbered volume, in a slipcase of blue Saifu cloth with embossing,
includes a gatefold sleeve in Mohawk vellum containing a colophon and
an etching created specially for this project. The softground and spitbite
etching, entitled Sky in Trees, was produced in collaboration with
Julia D’Amario, Master Printer.
The book and print are offered in an edition of 75, each signed and numbered
by the artist, and will be released concurrent with the opening of a mid-career
retrospective of the work of April Gornik at The Neuberger Museum of Art/SUNY
Purchase. This exhibition, organized by Dede Young, Curator of Modern
and Contemporary Art, will be
presented at the Neuberger from August 29, 2004 - February 15, 2005 and
will subsequently travel to two other museums.
